FROM THIS LAND: PHOTOGRAPHIC SURVEY OF MINING IN THE WEST

NATIONAL ENDOWMENT FOR THE ARTS FUNDED PROJECT 1978

This National Endowment for the Arts Photographic Survey grant project was directed by Sandy Hume and myself. We explored mining of minerals, ores, and exploration for oil and gas. We looked at the miners, remnants of old mines, and historical collections. While showing some of my images here, the entire project is housed at the Colorado State Historical Museum in Denver. My job was to fill in where other photographers left off.

Other photographers working on this project were: Roger Mertin, Linda Connor, Robert Adams, Ron Wohlauer, William Clift, Richard Van Pelt, Gary Metz and Sandy Hume.
